Tampa Bay Small Business Saturday 2025: The Local's Guide to Shopping Small

By Brandon Boswell·April 27, 2026

Small Business Saturday is November 29 — the Saturday after Thanksgiving — and Tampa Bay does it right. Between the massive Shopapalooza festival in St. Pete, the neighborhood Shop Hop in Seminole Heights, the boutique corridors of South Tampa, and the City of Tampa's own Shop Small campaign, there's no shortage of ways to put your dollars directly into local hands this year.

Here's where to go, what to expect, and how to make the most of it.

Shopapalooza: The Big One in St. Pete

If you only do one thing this Small Business Saturday, make it Shopapalooza. Now in its 15th year, it's held at Vinoy Park right on the downtown St. Pete waterfront — and it pulls in over 350 local makers, artists, boutiques, and food vendors across two full days.

  • When: November 29–30, 10am–5pm
  • Where: Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Dr NE, St. Petersburg
  • Admission: Free
  • Parking tip: Free trolley runs from South Core Garage

You'll find handmade jewelry, local food products, clothing, artwork, home goods, craft beer, live music, and a kids zone. It's legitimately one of the largest Small Business Saturday events in the country. Go early on Saturday — by noon the crowds are real.

South Tampa: The Bay to Bay Boutique Run

South Tampa is ground zero for independent boutiques in the city. The stretch along Bay to Bay Boulevard and the surrounding blocks has more locally owned shops per square mile than just about anywhere else in Tampa. Street parking is usually fine on weekends — park once and walk the corridor.

Penelope T (3310 W Bay to Bay Blvd) — Curated women's fashion with a timeless feel. Great for gifts that don't look like gifts.

Sweet Southern Chic (4219 W Bay to Bay Blvd) — Contemporary apparel and accessories with a Southern flair. One of the most popular boutiques in the area.

Joe & Son's Olive Oils (3204 W Bay to Bay Blvd) — A Tampa institution since 1938. Still family-run. Premium olive oils, vinegars, and stuff you can't find at Publix. One of those places you bring out-of-towners and they immediately understand why Tampa locals have opinions about food.

Deborah Kent's Women's Apparel (2120 S Dale Mabry Hwy) — Forty years in business. Designer clothing and shoes from a shop that has genuinely earned its loyal following.

Toffee To Go (3251 W Bay to Bay Blvd) — Hand-pulled toffee, cakes, pies. If you're picking up something for a host or neighbor, this is your move.

Hyde Park Village

Hyde Park Village keeps getting better as more local and independent brands settle in alongside the national names. The open-air layout makes it easy to spend a couple hours without feeling like you're in a mall.

The Bookstore at Oxford Exchange (420 W Kennedy Blvd) — Independent bookstore inside one of the most beautiful spaces in Tampa. Get a book, stay for coffee. It's worth the extra block from Hyde Park Village proper.

Boho Hunter — Latin American-inspired clothing and accessories. Unique pieces you won't find at the mall or order off Amazon.

Fig & Julep — Specialty oils, vinegars, and pantry staples. Foodies love this place, and it makes a genuinely good gift basket anchor.

Coastal Cowgirls Collective — You can customize rancher hats and denim jackets on-site. If you're shopping with someone who's hard to buy for, this is a fun experience in itself.

Hyde Park Village typically runs its own promotions around Small Business Saturday, so check their calendar closer to the date.

Seminole Heights: Shop Hop on Florida Avenue

Seminole Heights organizes its own Shop Hop for Small Business Saturday — a neighborhood-wide event where shops along Florida Avenue run deals and prizes to keep people moving from door to door. It's a good excuse to actually explore the neighborhood instead of just stopping at one spot.

Start with coffee. Florida Avenue has some of the best independent coffee shops in Tampa:

Blooming Floral Cafe — Specialty lattes and Venezuelan pastries in a space that looks like a Parisian flower shop had a baby with a neighborhood cafe. It's as good as it sounds.

Spaddy's Coffee — The neighborhood hangout. If you want to talk to an actual Seminole Heights local about what else to check out, this is where you find them.

The Lab Coffee — A collaboration between Blind Tiger and Zeal Coffee Roasters. Strong coffee, interesting space, worth the stop.

From there, work your way down the avenue. The neighborhood has had a real resurgence over the last decade, and Small Business Saturday is one of the better days to see what's opened up.

Davis Islands Holiday Market

Davis Islands runs its own thing on Small Business Saturday — a holiday market at the Village Shops with 55+ vendors, including local makers and returning neighborhood businesses. It's smaller and more neighborhood-feel than Shopapalooza, which is the whole point. If you're on Davis Islands or close to it, this is your version of the day.

Worth a Special Trip: Black English Bookstore

The Black English Bookstore at 401 E Oak Ave in Tampa Heights is an independent, woman-owned bookshop that's become a real community fixture. Small Business Saturday is a great reason to go if you haven't been yet. Books make good gifts, independent bookstores need your business, and this one is the real thing.

A Few Tips Before You Go

Go early. Shopapalooza is wall-to-wall by noon. South Tampa boutiques get busy too. Thanksgiving weekend Saturday mornings are when you want to leave the house before you feel like it.

Bring some cash. Not every vendor at outdoor markets takes cards, and the ones that do sometimes have connectivity issues.

Check #ShopSmallTampa. The City of Tampa runs a Shop Small Tampa campaign each year with a free directory of local businesses and a social push behind the hashtag. It's a decent way to find last-minute deals and spots you didn't have on your list.

Tampa Bay has the small businesses, the events, and the neighborhoods that make this kind of day actually fun rather than just obligatory. Get out there, spend local, and browse the Tampa Local Listings directory if you want to find more businesses to support — before and after November 29.
